A woman in Mérida resulted injured when part of a wall fell on top of her

A woman ended up with a serious head injury after a piece of wall fell on her, in the center of Mérida. According to data obtained at the scene, the woman, identified as Janet S. A., 26 years old, was walking in the company of a young man on the sidewalk of 64th Street, between 65 and 67 Centro, on Tuesday, February 6.

As he passed by an abandoned house, unexpectedly, a piece of wall fell on his head, causing a cut wound that bled profusely.

The passers-by who witnessed the events notified the emergency number 911, which immediately sent a unit from the fire department, as well as paramedics from the Coordinated Municipal Police of Mérida.

The paramedics helped the scared woman. After her wound was treated, she was boarded in an ambulance and taken to the hospital.

Municipal and Civil Protection agents proceeded to cordon off the area to avoid another accident. Civil Protection will be in charge of carrying out the expert opinion regarding the property that is abandoned. To calculate the risks it represents due to its advanced deterioration.
