5 foreign tourists die in an accident in the Riviera Maya

The accident occurred on the highway between Puerto Aventuras and Tulum near the Palladium hotel entrance.

Five foreign tourists and a Mexican national lost their lives this Sunday, February 18th, around 2 in the afternoon, in a car accident between a cargo Van and a Shuttle from the eTransfers company in the Riviera Maya.

Authorities who arrived at the scene attributed the accident to rain, excessive speed, and lack of caution.

Rescue and emergency teams are working in the area, with a preliminary toll of six people dead and slow traffic reported due to the work to rescue the bodies.

The identities and/or nationalities of the foreign tourists have not been yet revealed by local authorities.
