Unlike other similar workplace accidents, two workers were “miraculously saved” from being crushed by construction materials when a truck caused a sinkhole and tilted.
People who saw the accident said workers from a building mterials company were delivering the materials to a house on Thursday morning.
But, presumably so that the workers would not have to carry the material, the truck driver passed on the pedestrian street located between the playground and the Artemio Alpizar Ruz preschool, in the center of this community.
Due to the weight, the ground opened, a tire of the vehicle got stuck in the hole. The workers almost got buried by the concrete blocks, beams, cement that fell.
Veteran residents said that there was a sinkhole under that road that belonged to an old nearby school. Some people indicated that the workers were terribly scared but survived to tell their adventure.
