Trova Music was a source of inspiration at the City Festival in the Trova Yucateca Composition Contest, which is celebrating its fourth edition.
In the “Traditional Approach” category, the winners were the songs “Mérida” (pseudonym Chico), a composition by Rogerio Armando Caballero Uc, with first place, and “Ensueño de amor” (pseudonym Noche Estrellada) by Geily Georgina Flores Villalobos, in the second site.
In the “Innovation/Fusion” category, the selected compositions were “Tan bella historia” (pseudonym Melodía Perdida) by Karen Cristina Rosales Coral, and the musical work “Infinito” (pseudonym Trafalgar), by Miguel Ángel Peraza Castillo, in the first and second place, respectively.
According to the call, the composers participated with an unpublished work, not premiered in public.
The jury was made up of Maricarmen Pérez, Pedro Carlos Herrera, and Juan Pablo Manzanero, who determined that the songs were well-made songs, with structure and harmony, among other elements.
First-place winners will receive 15,000 pesos and second-place winners will receive 10,000 pesos. The award ceremony will be held next Wednesday, January 24, at 6 pm in the Auditorium of the Olimpo Cultural Center.
