This city of Tizimin experienced an authentic “invasion” of visitors, devotees from different municipalities of the State, even from other parts of the country, attracted by the religious festival in honor of the Holy Kings, but also by the Expo Fair that took place at the same time.

Although there is no exact figure, it is estimated that more than 50,000 visitors arrived in this city between Saturday and Sunday, since more than 120 buses entered the “Cupul” track, near the fairgrounds.

In the parish of the Three Holy Kings, the busiest time was after 10 in the morning, on Saturday, and from that time until noon, some 10 thousand devotees had passed before the patrons Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltazar; that is, an average of 5,000 people per hour, according to data provided by the volunteers of the pilgrim aid group.

The police authorities reported that after midnight on Saturday, buses began to arrive from different municipalities, and even from other states.

At the same time, passengers were able to enter the fairgrounds, while others headed to the city center.

At 11 pm on Saturday, the parish of the Three Holy Kings continued to receive Catholic parishioners, many of whom spent the night in the corridors of the Municipal Palace; others set up their tents in the main square.

Once again, the masses were celebrated at an altar installed in front of the niches where the patrons were located, in order not to interrupt the passage of the devotees and prevent long lines.

On Sunday, the lines of visitors advanced to Benito Juárez Park and turned north on 48th Street towards the municipal market, but the measures implemented made the passage of parishioners constant.

In the candle chapel, hundreds and hundreds of families entered and were allowed to stay for a few minutes; Later they left their candles or “Veladoras” and left to allow other believers to enter the premises.

The zoo was another of the places that were crowded during the weekend, as it is common for visitors to include in their itinerary a visit to this recreational center that is part of the attractions of Tizimín.

According to the official Police report, the bullring had an influx of around 3,500 people during the sixth bullfight that the fair representative Merly Turriza Argüelles was responsible for organizing.
