New Anikabil Colonial Park is inaugurated in Ciudad Caucel

During the inauguration of the new Anikabil Colonial Park in Ciudad Caucel, Mayor Alejandro Ruz Castro highlighted the commitment of the municipal authority to investing resources from citizen taxes in works and services that transform public spaces, making them more urban and sustainable for the enjoyment and neighborhood coexistence.

During the ceremony, Ruz Castro highlighted that the project is part of the “Ya’axtal: the Great Green Lung of Mérida” initiative, underscoring the importance of privileging connectivity and the archaeo-ecological rescue of public spaces to generate areas of coexistence. family and neighborhood. The investment in this specific project amounts to 3 million 628 thousand 577 pesos.

The mayor stressed the commitment to work together with the community to improve public spaces, highlighting that in Ciudad Caucel more than 14 million pesos have been invested in the rehabilitation of more than 3 thousand square meters. 

In this context, the Anikabil Colonial Park project is an example of how to conceive projects that consider environmental conditions, urban mobility, coexistence and recreation.

A change for the Anikabil area

In response, residents of the subdivision expressed their satisfaction with the construction of the park, highlighting not only the improvement in the urban image, but also the increase in security, especially around the Anikabil ranch thanks to better lighting. 

Mrs. Enelia Jiménez, a resident of Ciudad Caucel, praised the project as fantastic and highlighted its importance for all ages.

Accompanied by the local representative Karem Achach Ramírez, the municipal secretary Julio Sauma Castillo and the director of Municipal Public Services José Collado Soberanis, the mayor confirmed the completion of the work in the park, which includes a pedestrian walkway, new irrigation system, circuits lighting, sidewalks with ramps for people with disabilities and an inclusive children’s play area.

Ruz Castro concluded by highlighting that this work joins other linear parks in the city, emphasizing the importance of creating spaces that encourage neighborhood coexistence and serve as recreation areas in different parts of Mérida.
