Yucatecan Federal Representative Cecilia Patrón Laviada highlighted the promotion of education and culture for all carried out by the Government headed by Mauricio Vila Dosal and endorses the title of Mérida as the best city in the country.

“The new University of the Arts of Yucatán is an example of what can be achieved when the budget is used responsibly, to make a state increasingly fairer and with more opportunities,” Patrón Laviada stated.

During the speech she gave at the inauguration of the renovated UNAY facilities, he highlighted the state government’s commitment to the training of young people by providing them with a space with first-class infrastructure and a wide range of options to become professionals in what they most enjoy. They are passionate about it.

She recognized the Yucatan Government’s style of doing things, which is to always work as a team and for the well-being of the Yucatecans because just as it tirelessly seeks to attract investments and generate more and more jobs, it also supports education so that young people are prepared to take advantage of the opportunities and lay the foundations for us to continue transforming.

“The achievements in education are great, such as the state agenda of English in basic education, 100 percent scholarships for women who study engineering at state universities, as well as the opening of new careers such as cybersecurity,” she added.

The new Yucatán University of Arts, with an investment of 280 million pesos for remodeling and expansion, will have spaces for dance, theater, film, and visual arts; with a recording forum for cinema, a projection room, 8 new classrooms, 4 dance classrooms with dressing rooms and bathrooms, 2 computer rooms, new toilets, cafeteria, gallery, library and more, going from an enrollment capacity of 400 to 2,000 students.
