Yucatan Governor Mauricio Vila and the president and CEO of the WTTC, Julia Simpson, signed a letter of commitment with the WTTC that seeks to promote the Hotel Sustainability Basics strategy, which aims to accompany hoteliers in defining the concrete steps to achieve decarbonization, responding to the global call to generate inclusive and sustainable growth in the industry.
For its part, the WTTC will provide training and support to those establishments that require it on issues of the use of renewable energies, proper waste management methods, and water care strategies, to achieve a more sustainable sector. Thus reaffirming its commitment to the development of the Yucatan hotel sector.
“This initiative is aligned with our main objective, which is to reinforce our work plan focused on becoming a sustainable, sustainable, and inclusive state by our 2040 Agenda,” said the Governor.
Joint efforts will be aimed at ensuring that the establishments of the hotel network and local hotelier associations obtain verification of this initiative.
To this end, the WTTC and its partners will provide training and support on issues of the use of renewable energy, proper waste management, and water care.
