In an assessment of the main achievements of the Institute during 2023, García Magaña highlighted the collaboration with the Carter Center, which selected Mérida as one of the 12 cities in the world to participate, for the third year, in its campaign “Informing women, transforming their lives”, an innovative effort that strives to ensure that they receive beneficial information from their governments and thrive in their communities.

The official said that they also joined the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) #ConTratoDigno campaign, which represents a deep commitment to justice, equity, dignity, and the promotion of the fundamental rights of domestic workers.

Likewise, they worked in collaboration with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Yucatán delegation, in the dissemination and promotion of the insurance of paid domestic workers.

Finally, García Magaña also highlighted the great progress in the “Safe Women” program, which provides them with information, care, and support in cases of risk situations due to violence.
