A senior citizen was attacked by a dog on 97th and 42nd streets in the Paseos de Opichén subdivision, La Joya in Mérida
An older adult, who is dedicated to weeding, was attacked by a dog on 97th Street and 42nd in the Paseos de Opichén subdivision, La Joya, in the West side of Mérida. A local resident reported to the authorities that a man suffered a bleeding wound after being attacked by a dog while riding his bicycle.
A man who noticed the incident decided to help the injured, pressed the wound with a cloth, and then took him to a pharmacy office to treat his wound because he does not have social security.
Agents from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) attended the incident and, given the elderly man’s bleeding wound, they requested the presence of emergency medical technicians.
After healing the wound and calming the bleeding, the police officers decided that it was necessary to transfer him to a hospital, so they took him to the Agustin O’Horán Hospital. The grandfather was reluctant to be taken because he said that he did not have the money to pay for his stay in the hospital.
