As part of her work, Federal Representative Cecilia Patrón Laviada continues to address the main needs of women, a very important sector in Mérida and Yucatán that represents more than 50% of the population, hence the essentiality of promoting laws and public policies. in favor of their security and development.

“As a mother, daughter and public servant, I know the need to have the tools to provide our families with better opportunities and a safe environment to fully develop. As a team, actions and laws have been achieved in favor of a fairer Mérida for all,” Cecilia Patrón declared.

Last year, she presented before the Congress an initiative for cancer care for women and reserves to the federal budget for the allocation of resources to priority programs such as the opening of children’s homes.

Likewise, she recognized the approval of Law 3 of 3, at the state and federal level, which prevents a perpetrator or food debtor from holding public or elected office.

On the other hand, she highlighted the program promoted by the State Government “Women with safe housing” that provides financial support for a life free of violence, allowing them to access the rent of a house for up to six months.

There are also the Violeta Regional Centers along with the 106 Municipal Women’s Institutes in the state, promoted by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, with the one in Mérida being the one with the most experience with more than 20 years of providing services and care to thousands of women in situation of violence.

“The team effort that has been made in Yucatán must be recognized, such as the state initiative so that the Municipal Women’s Institutes cannot be closed by law, actions that speak of responsible governments,” said Cecilia Patrón.

In this order of ideas, the legislator referred to one of the growth and entrepreneurship programs promoted by the City Council of Mérida, the “Autonomous Women Mothers” scholarship that seeks economic empowerment and professional, work promotion and better quality of life for mothers of family who are studying.

“I have had the opportunity to tour the police stations, neighborhoods and subdivisions of the city, learning the stories of thousands of working women, heads of families who raise their families every day, and many of them require social security, attention to their health, and opportunities for growth.”
