The night before yesterday, Tuesday, a group of residents took a foreigner out of his home, invading private property and violating that person’s rights.
As we reported last week, the current attackers indicated that the foreigner allegedly poisoned some dogs and birds in the town; there is even a complaint in process at the State Prosecutor’s Office.
To remove the foreigner from his home, located at the exit of Sudzal towards Izamal, they cut off his electricity, and even drunk people participated in the incident.
Glendy Magaly Chan Dzib, an employee of the municipal government, was involved in the brawl, at the time of the forced eviction gave instructions to close the Sudzal-Izamal highway, and, in addition, directed the neighbors in actions against the foreign resident.
The Municipal Police arrived at the scene to protect the safety of the person.
It was also found out that they took various belongings and cash from abroad, as well as a motorcycle, so the attackers could be reported for various crimes, such as power outage, robbery, and home invasion, among others. Glendy Chan is an employee of the Sudzal government, but she does not work because she supposedly has an illness or injury, she will only be paid every two weeks. The City Council is expected to terminate her for participating in alleged crimes.
