Yucatán registers low historic figures in terms of unemployment

During the first nine months of 2023, Yucatán registered an unemployment rate of 1.9, a historical minimum that is lower than the national rate of 2.8; which reflects that the promotion policy led by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal to attract new investments that generate more and better opportunities for Yucatecan families is giving results.

According to the National Occupation and Employment Survey of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), the state of Yucatan was one of the first four in the entire country with the lowest unemployment rate.

In addition to this, in the third quarter of 2023, Yucatán registered an unemployment rate of 2.1%, which is lower than the national rate of 3% and which positioned the entity in sixth place with the lowest unemployment in Mexico.

In the same period, the state registered 74,600 employers, which represented an increase of 20.8%, compared to the same quarter of 2022. This growth was twice the national rate of 9.0% and positioned the entity in sixth place with the highest increase.

These figures reflect the historical moment that Yucatán is experiencing, since 2021 was the best year in economic growth and job creation, while, in 2022, an unprecedented number of foreign direct investment and tourist arrivals was reached, among other indicators. relevant, which shows the national and international promotion that Vila Dosal has led, to place the region before the eyes of the world.

In the 5 years of the Government of Mauricio Vila Dosal, it has managed to attract more than 350 investment projects from sectors such as Information Technology, aerospace, real estate, agro-industrial, construction, and logistics, among others with internationally renowned brands such as Accenture, Amazon, Walmart, Airbus, Heineken, Uchiyama, Woodgenix, Preh and more.

Proof of this, the first Free Market Distribution Center in the southeast of the country was installed in the state, specifically in the municipality of Umán, where 250 people already work, with the projection of having up to 1,000 collaborators. This investment is added to others such as Farmacias Similares, Amazon, and Walmart.

For this reason, the administration of Vila Dosal reiterates its commitment to continue working as a team to continue generating the quality jobs that Yucatecans need, boosting the local economy and raising the quality of life of families.
