He added that, although it is true that in 2023 the drought was intense and affected the production of food, fruits, and vegetables, it is also true that there is a lack of official support so that producers can buy seeds and sow, they lack fertilizers, and water pumps. irrigation for their crops, they do not have an irrigation system, they cannot use their electrified wells and that will mean that in the future there will no longer be enough food production from the countryside in Yucatán.
He emphasized that in 2023, the drought and the lack of official support affected the crops of sweet orange, grapefruit, mandarins, sour orange and lemon because the production of these citrus fruits decreased considerably, and they hope that by 2024 there will be a good rainy season for achieve good harvests, but the field requires federal, state and private investment.
