On a day intended to fulfill their annual promise to the Virgin of Guadalupe, two parishioners from Tixkokob, Daniel Lopez “La Negra” and Cecilio Xijún “Pelucas”, lost their lives in a tragic accident.
They were traveling from Tixkokob to Villa Madero, Campeche, when their truck collided with an ADO company bus on the Mérida-Campeche highway, near the town of Pomuch.
The incident occurred when the truck, after being hit by the bus, was projected into the back of a trailer. The crash resulted in the loss of two lives and several injuries.
The community of Tixkokob is mourning for this sad event that mourns the Guadeloupe pilgrims who sought to fulfill their devotion.
