Two fishermen reported missing were found partying

The fishermen were affected by the north winds and were helped by another boat, however, instead of notifying their families, they went to a party.

When everything seemed to indicate that one more tragedy had occurred in a Yucatecan port, after the loss of two fishermen who on the high seas were reported to have received the northern winds that hit the Yucatan Peninsula, the sailors turned out to be celebrating that they were safe.

The fishermen left the port of San Felipe on Saturday, December 9th, and were lost due to the bad weather that hit the coast on Sunday. However, they were able to reach the port of El Cuyo safely that same day at night, after being helped by another fishing boat.

The relatives of both fishermen posted messages on social networks requesting the support of the seamen of Río Lagartos and El Cuyo to help the fishermen about whom they had not heard anything for more than 24 hours.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m., the police received a report of the arrival of a boat at the El Cuyo dock and upon arrival, they only found the boat with the name “Delfín” and some belongings of the fishermen. Upon investigating, they find out that both fishermen went to the house of the mother of one of them in that Tizimileño port.

Later it was learned that they went out to celebrate being safe and were drinking. In the first minutes of Monday, December 11th, those identified as Emanuel “N” and Prócoro “N” were found safe and sound by their relatives.

They said that their compass failed and they were left adrift after their fuel ran out, but luck smiled on them when a boat passed by that provided them with 25 liters of gasoline and guided them to reach the port where they were safe.
