Tribute to Armando Manzanero to end this weekend

The Grand Festival of the Music Palace is preparing to close an emotional weekend dedicated to the memory of the legendary Yucatecan Maestro Armando Manzanero, where the public will be able to enjoy a wide array of musical styles.

Starting the closing on Friday, December 15 at 8:00 p.m., the renowned international jazz singer, Elizabeth Meza, will illuminate the stage with his program “Amanecer”, based on the last album that Manzanero produced for him. Elizabeth’s vocal singularity will give a resplendent touch to the master’s magnificent work.

On Saturday, December 16, at noon, the talented artists Valeria Jasso, Lea Garza, Dorian Manzanero, and Mafud will join forces to offer an educational concert at the Interactive Museum. Titled “Manzanero en las Nuevas Generaciones,” this event will explore the composer’s most celebrated works, highlighting his influential legacy in the vibrant Yucatan artistic community. 

The day will continue at 20:00 in the Concert Hall, where the talented Miriam Solís, accompanied by Ángel Gorocica’s Mariachi Juvenil , the master pianist Miguel Villicaña and the flamenco company “La Comino”, will present the concert “Señor Amor”. Solís will perform pieces from her album “Her Fair of Love”, the latest produced by Maestro Manzanero.

On Sunday the 17th at 11:00 a.m., the festival will offer a Master Class on “Arrangements and Composition in Manzanero’s Works”, by distinguished collaborators of the maestro, including the arranger, pianist and conductor Mtro. Pedro Carlos Herrera, the arranger, musician and musical director Carlos Milan, the lyricist José Antonio Ceballos and the pianist and arranger Juan Palacios, offering a deep immersion into the creative process of the legendary composer.

For the grand closing of the event at 8:00 p.m., the renowned Argentine singer-songwriter Alejandro Lerner will take the stage, offering an emotional concert in memory of his collaboration with Manzanero. Lerner will perform his latest composition, “By your side”, dedicated to the Maestro. The evening will continue with the magnificent performance of the talented Spanish singer-songwriter Ana Cirré, who will offer us “Canta a Manzanero”, an extraordinary show backed by highly skilled musicians.
