Next Friday, December 15, the Tren Maya is scheduled to be inaugurated and its first trip will be from Campeche to Cancún, Quintana Roo. However, at the Teya station, the closest to Mérida, Yucatán, you can still see dozens of workers carrying out work to complete it.

During a visit to that station, workers were observed welding structural parts of what would be the access to the terminal or carrying out work in the platform area, although it was said that “they are 95% complete.”

Lighting has already been installed and plants have been planted in the parking area, which is practically completed, as have the garrisons and access roads, as well as the overpass that is part of the Mérida-Cancún highway.

As we reported, the Teya station began construction in October 2022, and, as reported at the time, the main building will have a plaza, there will be a garden area, and an administrative and operational office area.

For the convenience of travelers, Teya station will have escalators and elevators.

As part of the preparations, last Thursday the 30th a simulation of the Mayan Train route of the Ie-Tram was carried out, which will have stops in that area and should enter into operation on the same day as the train. The signage for the Ie-Tram transportation system will soon begin to be installed, which in the first simulation made the journey from La Plancha to the Teya station in 26 minutes.
