Tren Maya opens new date to travel from Campeche to Cancun

Army General Óscar David Lozano Águila, who is director of the parastatal company Tren Maya, SA de CV, reported that he will open a new date to be able to purchase tickets for the Tren Maya on the section that runs from Campeche to Cancún.

Starting on January 15, people will be able to buy tickets to get on this transport and the sale of tickets is in the preparation stage.

Lozano Águila also explained that at the moment there are only four trains per day that will travel the route from San Francisco, Campeche, to Cancún, Quintana Roo and they will leave for 23 days at morning times of 7:00, 9:00, and 11:00 hours.

How to buy Maya Train tickets?

If you want to buy tickets for the Mayan Train you must access the Eticket company page.

Within its internet portal you can select the number of tickets you want as well as the price range:

• For Tourist Class the price is 1,166 pesos (65 USD) per person
• For Premier Class the cost of the ticket is 1,862 pesos (105 USD) per person.

The tickets sold out last Friday, December 1st, just minutes after going on sale, so as the number of trips increases, more tickets will begin to be sold at the train station ticket offices.

It should be noted that the inaugural trip for the public of this transportation will take place on Saturday, December 16 at 7:00 a.m., however, President López Obrador will make his inaugural trip of the first section on December 15.

AMLO reiterated that on December 31 the rest of the section of the train that goes from Palenque to Cancún will be inaugurated.
