The president of the Government and Political Coordination Board of the State Congress, local congressman Víctor Hugo Lozano Poveda, stated that the real estate reform approved on Wednesday, November 29, will bring order to the urban growth of the metropolitan area.

In addition, he stated that it would end land speculation and give legal security to the assets of Yucatecans or home buyers.

“I can only define this real estate reform in one word: it is called order,” he stated in an interview during the commission sessions.

“It will order the growth of the metropolitan area and the entire State, it will end speculation, it will give certainty to whoever buys a house.”

“Housing developments will have to build a park in the subdivision, a sports field, or other amenities they offer. The donation lands will no longer remain vacant,” he continued.

“Whoever says otherwise, let him prove it; We make it very clear in all the approved regulations that there is no land speculation, but rather legal certainty and that the developers comply with what they are selling,” he explained.

“Today it is the other way around. Believe me, there was a lot of resistance, yes, of course, but we legislators are very clear that we must work for Yucatán.
