Mexican writer and journalist Cristina Pacheco dies at 82

Through her Facebook account, her daughter Laura Emilia Pacheco confirmed the death: “With pain, my sister Cecilia and I share in the death of our beloved mother Cristina Pacheco.”

Carlos Brito, director of Canal Once, sent his condolences to the host’s family:

“With deep pain, I want to share the news of the death of our beloved Cristina Pacheco. We will always remember her as the woman who exalted Canal Once and to whom she gave her life. My most sincere condolences to her daughter and all her loved ones.”

And he described her as “an extraordinary woman, in every sense of the word.”

Cristina Pacheco was the wife of the poet José Emilio Pacheco, who died last year. And at that moment, Pacheco announced her retirement due to serious health problems.
