Maya Train truck drivers demand Christmas bonus in Quintana Roo

A group of dump drivers working on Section 7 of the Mayan Train threatened to demonstrate and stop the work of the federal project, to demand payment of the corresponding bonus.

Raúl Méndez Sánchez, representative of these 22 dump drivers who have been working in the Chetumal-Escárcega section, pointed out that last Monday they were informed that they were not going to receive this end-of-year benefit, even though they already had the money.

For this reason, they warned that if they do not receive a favorable response before this Saturday, December 9th, they will begin a work stoppage until their demands are met.

However, the local dumpers clarified that they already knew in advance that they were not going to receive a bonus as such since instead they have been beneficiaries of other types of bonuses.

He said that throughout the year they were working they have received those shares that are even higher than a bonus.
