Criminal proceedings are pending for the crime of qualified homicide.

Wanted for the murder of a man committed in September 2022 in Mérida, José Ricardo GL, 29, was arrested in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, where he is from.

Agents and investigative prosecutors from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) and the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Yucatán (FGE) moved to that city once they identified the whereabouts of the probable murderer.

In locating the individual and executing the arrest warrant issued by a control judge, the Yucatecan police and prosecutors had the collaboration of their Campeche counterparts.

José Ricardo GL, a bricklayer’s assistant, is facing criminal proceedings for the crime of qualified homicide.

The evidence obtained during the investigations indicates that he killed César Augusto CK whom he pushed, causing him to fall and hit his head severely, an action that he repeated once again when the victim stood up.

The victim died shortly after as a result of head trauma, as determined in the legal autopsy.

The events took place outside a property in Merida’s Santa Cruz Norte subdivision.
