Carlos Bojórquez Urzáiz, former director of the UADY’s Faculty of Anthropology, and a doctor in history, stated that the executive projects for the new Motul campus and the improvements to the Felipe Carrillo Puerto museum are almost ready and were carried out by specialists from the Faculty of Architecture.

In addition, every month there will be conferences with researchers who have analyzed the figure of Carrillo Puerto from different angles. Among the speakers mentioned are Enrique Montalvo Ortega, Francisco Paoli Bolio, Armando Bartra Vergés, Luis Ramírez Carrillo, and Piedad Peniche Rivero, among others.

It is expected that these talks will be at venues between Motul and Mérida, either in university centers or in other public spaces. In addition, there will be a traveling exhibition of images from the Pedro Guerra Photo Library that will tour several municipalities.

The commemoration activities will begin on January 3 and conclude on November 8, the date on which the birth of the “red dragon with jade eyes” is celebrated. It will be 150 years since his birth.
