As part of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s work agenda, it was announced that in the first days of 2024, he will travel to the city of Mérida.

AMLO set foot on Yucatecan lands on December 15 so that, together with the inauguration of the Mayan Train, he could give the start of the operations of the new transportation in Yucatán, the IE-TRAM at the Teya station.

AMLO assured that 2024 will be the year of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, as next year will mark the 100th mournful anniversary of the former governor of Yucatán, so he will be honored and commemorated.

The President of Mexico announced his agenda highlighting that on December 31, the section of the Cancun-Palenque Mayan Train will be inaugurated.

On January 3, AMLO will travel from Tabasco to Mérida, Yucatán, where the “Mañanera” will take place, and then move to the Magic Town of Motul, the birthplace of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, aka “the Red Apostle of the Maya”, who was murdered on Yucatecan soil 100 years ago.
