ADO expects an increase in passenger mobility during the holidays

The company Autotransportes de Oriente ( ADO ) plays a crucial role in the mobilization of passengers during December, anticipating transporting around 200 thousand people, this significant increase represents a 40 percent increase in the runs that connect Mérida with the cities of Villahermosa, Cancun, and Chetumal.

Angélica Marroquín Mañón, commercial manager of ADO, explained that the transportation routes in the peninsular area that connect with Veracruz, Acayucan, Puebla, Oaxaca, and Tuxtla will experience a substantial increase, a phenomenon that translates into an increase in daily runs, going from 160 to about 225 that connect with Mérida or depart from the city.

The ADO executive explained that the frequencies from Mérida to destinations such as Cancún, Chetumal, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum have been expanded to respond to the growing demand during December, where metropolises such as Mexico City, Puebla, Veracruz, Villahermosa, and Campeche stand out as the main sources of passengers traveling to the Yucatecan capital.

ADO’s participation in the tourism promotion of Mérida was highlighted during the presentation of the new “Visit Mérida” promotional bus. This is a collaborative agreement with the Mérida City Council, which seeks to strengthen the presence and image of the city on travel routes in the peninsular area.

This agreement, which is based on the growth of new ADO transportation services, reflects the collaboration between the company and the state and municipal governments of Yucatán in terms of mobility. In addition, the expansion of services stands out, such as the “Va y Ven” urban system in Mérida, which will now include federal route buses. This will allow more tourists to keep in mind and enjoy the tourist destination that Mérida offers.

José Luis Martínez Semerena, director of Economic Development and Tourism of the Municipality, pointed out that this will be the first bus, and it is expected that promotion will increase with new designs and images on the daily routes that connect the Mexican Caribbean with Mérida.

The objective, he explained, is to increase the presence of international travelers to this city, attracting the millions of visitors who spend the night in Quintana Roo and who are looking for a new opportunity and experience, which is why an agreement was signed with the company ADO at the Tianguis Turístico past, to achieve a greater presence and image identity of the Mérida destination, he indicated.

It is important to note, he added, that part of this agreement is the presence of video in promotional material, both on the screens of the company’s ADO stations in the center of the country, the Gulf, and the company’s Pacific and the audio-video services. of the buses on the routes that travel to the city of Mérida, where entertainment and promotions are presented.

He added that December is one of the most important months of the year for tourists who travel by land, and it is intended that more people can learn about, and keep in mind, the opportunities and diversity of options to enjoy in Mérida.
