A young fisherman, who was diving in the vicinity of the Alacranes Reef, suffered decompression. He was treated by personnel from the Search and Rescue Station of the XIII Naval Zone of Yucalpetén and after stabilizing him, taken to a hospital.

The young man is Yuren Jaret R. Ch., 16, from Progreso.

Reports indicate that the minor suffered decompression while diving at the Alacranes Reef. Once in the Naval Zone, he was taken in an ambulance from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) and transferred to the Progreso Health Center.

The authorities request the support of citizens to locate the relatives, as well as information about the boat that took him to Isla Pérez, in Alacranes where they left him.

The events occurred on Saturday, December 9. The authorities do not know and are investigating whether the fisherman traveled on a larger fleet boat or on a coastal boat that left from the La Caleta dock. His health status is precarious.
