A worker was severely injured after a fence fell on him in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood, in Umán.
The events occurred on the corner of 13th and 32nd streets in the aforementioned municipality when personnel from a company dedicated to the sale of construction materials were unloading dirt from a dump truck.
In an oversight, the operator of the heavy truck miscalculated and got stuck against the fence of the construction site, causing the wall to fall onto one of the workers.
When he was crushed by the cement blocks, the man, approximately 40 years old, suffered serious injuries, so he was helped by his companions who immediately reported the incident to the 9-1-1 emergency number.
Paramedics from the Ministry of Public Security arrived at the site, treated the injured man, and finally transferred him to the “Agustín O’Horán” general hospital in the city of Mérida.
