In the sixteenth edition of the Noche Blanca, Arte a Tope, the “Marathon of Yucametrajes” was celebrated as an initiative to promote local visual creations and address relevant issues for the community.

The screening of 20 works will take place in the video room of the Mérida Olimpo Cultural Center starting at 8 pm.

The audiovisuals, created between 2015 and 2023, explore diverse narratives about memory, urbanity, gastronomy, environmental surroundings, and identity.

The public will enjoy formats such as fiction, video dance, documentary, and meta-documentary for five consecutive hours.

The selection was based on the direction and production by local artists, the relevance of the themes for the construction of the common good, and the use of communicative languages for various ages.

The marathon is divided into five moments, including narratives for everyone, Janal cinema, Municipal Fund shorts, and exploration of stories, memories, and environment.

Social and environmental problems will also be addressed in a section dedicated to reflection on violence against women.

The event is free, encouraging community participation. For more details about Noche Blanca and its activities, visit www.merida.gob.mx/nocheblanca .
