Less than a month before the start of operations , the cost of the Mayan train ticket remains a mystery.

This morning, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador declared that the service rate will be between 10% and 15% lower than that of the bus on the Mérida-Cancún route and that its maximum speed will be 160 kilometers per hour.

The Federal President reiterated that the new railway system, which represents the largest infrastructure project currently being built in the world, will be inaugurated on Friday, December 15, on the Campeche – Cancún section , passing through Mérida.

“We are going to inaugurate the train on December 15, from Campeche to Cancún, and on Saturday) I asked General Ávila how much the ticket was going to cost, and he told me that it would cost less than the bus ticket to go to Cancun from Mérida, it would cost I think 10% and 15% less, I don’t want to speculate on the exact amount, I won’t be wrong, but the train will travel up to a speed of 160 kilometers per hour and above all, people will be transported with more comfort, it is less stressful, it is more relaxed to travel by train than by plane, helicopter, or by bus, that is very important,” AMLO concluded.
