State authorities find illegal “huachicol” taps on a PEMEX pipeline in the north of Mérida

Personnel from state and federal forces carried out investigations on Monday night, November 13, in Colonia El Tamarindo, near Parque de Industrias No-Contaminantes (Non-Polluting Industries Park), after the alleged discovery of at least three clandestine taps in the Pemex gas pipeline.

The discovery was made by security personnel from Petróleos Mexicanos, who detected a “low pressure” in that part of the gas pipeline, so they moved to the area, located on 70th Street diagonal of the aforementioned neighborhood, and found the three clandestine intakes.

Pemex immediately informed the state and federal authorities, so agents from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), as well as personnel from the National Guard and the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), arrived at the scene, and cordoned off the area.

The FGR personnel is currently carrying out the corresponding investigations and procedures. To date, there is no report of anyone arrested in relation to this case.
