More than 300 police officers will take care of consumers during Buen Fin 2023
The director of the Municipal Police of Mérida, Mario Arturo Romero Escalante, announced that hundreds of agents will guard various points in Mérida as part of the security operation that will be deployed on the occasion of Buen Fin 2023.
He announced that between November 17 and 20, the dates on which this campaign will be carried out, hundreds of agents will be deployed in the center and other parts of the city, to provide security to people who go to the establishment to do their shopping.
“Only personnel for the Buen Fin, we assign around 200 officers, in addition to those for normal, daily service operations. That’s about 120, 130 agents. Here we consider that the policemen that are in the different areas also participate, such as command control,” he explained.
It was reported that on this occasion, there will be just over 15 thousand establishments that will be joining the Buen Fin in Yucatán, so the agents will carry out several security patrols to reinforce this work in Mérida, where the largest number of operations are focused.
ATMs, banks, shopping malls, and other establishments will have permanent surveillance.
The head of the police department also called on citizens to take precautions when shopping, with the aim of not creating a situation that could end in the commission of a crime. “We ask people who, to the extent possible, can carry out transactions with card money, to do so. If you are going to buy with cash, you can go accompanied, the better. Avoid some things that we do not encourage at a certain time,” he said.
