Mexican singer and recording artist Luis Miguel donates 10 million pesos to Acapulco

The famous Mexican singer and recording artist Luis Miguel donated 10 million pesos for the reconstruction of Acapulco, after the passage of Hurricane Otis.

The Banorte Foundation was the financial group selected by the singer, and the foundation will double the amount to provide support to the city that was Luis Miguel’s home for years and marked part of his life.

The Banorte Foundation will be in charge of channeling Luis Miguel’s donation, bringing the contribution to a total of 20 million pesos.

This amount will be used to rebuild and equip homes for the benefit of those affected.

The resources will have a comprehensive approach since, in addition to the houses, food packages, and health plans that will be delivered during the coming days in the port of Acapulco.

The Banorte Foundation works in collaboration with different organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Un Kilo de Ayuda, AMA, Food Bank and Save the Children.

To date, the total amount raised by the Banorte Foundation, which includes Luis Miguel’s contribution, amounts to 31 million pesos.

The Foundation undertakes to match this amount, which means a total of 62 million pesos allocated to aid and reconstruction in Acapulco.

Luis Miguel’s gesture of solidarity occurs in the midst of his successful concert tour in 2023, with confirmed dates for 2024 in mostly full venues, including performances at the Mexico City Arena in November.

The year will close with performances in Acapulco and the Riviera Maya.
