A senior citizen tragically lost his life on the morning of after being run over by a cargo truck in the Sambulá neighborhood , in the southeast of Mérida.
The unfortunate event occurred during the first hours of this Thursday, when the 65-year-old man, identified as Manuel “N”, tried to cross the Colonias Circuit, at 79-C Street in the aforementioned colony, when The driver of a cargo truck turned unexpectedly onto the aforementioned main street and did not see the man.
Unfortunately, nothing could be done, as the man perished under the front tires of the truck.
Paramedics arrived at the site to provide first aid, however, there was nothing they could do since the victim had no vital signs.
The fatal outcome shocked the neighborhood because the deceased was a highly appreciated person in the area since he lived just a few meters from where the accident occurred.
Agents from the Public Security Secretariat arrived at the site to learn about the events, as well as arrest the person allegedly responsible for his death.
Semefo personnel were in charge of removing the body and transferring it to the morgue for its legal autopsy.
