Movimiento Ciudadano denounced the former president for his attacks against Mariana Rodríguez.

At the moment it is not clear if the former president of Mexico himself deleted the account or it was part of a sanction for violating the policies of the social network owned by Elon Musk.

The former president had been strongly criticized for his messages against Mariana Rodríguez, wife of Samuel García; whom he described in a derogatory and sexist way.

Prior to the elimination of Fox’s account, the pre-campaign coordinator of pre-candidate Samuel GarcíaJorge Álvarez Máynez , filed a complaint with the INE against former president Fox after he called Mariana Rodríguez a “Dama de Compañía.”

The Movimiento Ciudadano political party accused Fox of political violence against the wife of the governor of Nuevo León, which violates his political-electoral rights.

According to the complaint presented by Álvarez Máynez, the term “Dama de Compañía” is a concept that could imply a series of deeply negative and unworthy qualifiers.

He added that besides insulting Rodríguez, Fox is minimizing the woman’s influence in the political, social, business and electoral scene, and the role she has played in her husband’s career.
