Come to Herencia Viva Artisan Bazaar this weekend in Santa Ana

To promote and boost the sale of local crafts and products to national and international tourists, from November 16 to 19, one more edition of the Herencia Viva Artisan Bazaar will be held in Santa Ana Park.

In this regard, the head of the Yucatecan Institute of Entrepreneurs Antonio González Blanco, highlighted that in this edition 60 local producers from 20 municipalities of the state participated, among which Valladolid, Hunucmá, Oxkutzcab, Izamal, Halachó and Mérida stand out and regarding the products he said, you can find different craft branches such as henequen, honey, textiles, footwear, hammocks, wood carving, among others.

“In the previous editions carried out in April and July respectively, there were 90 beneficiaries from more than 30 municipalities in the interior of the state, managing to raise more than 850 thousand pesos in direct sales for the participating people.”

González Blanco mentioned that on this occasion there will be four days where visitors will be able to delight in the pieces present and the talent of Yucatecan artisans.

When referring to the artisans present, he said that they are the reason that anyone in Mexico and the world recognizes us as Yucatecas and Yucatecans because they protect and preserve the cultural heritage of the state.

Verónica Pat Carrillo, artisan from the municipality of Izamal and representing the artisans participating in the bazaar, thanked the space and the holding of the event because it allows the producers and artisans to directly present their products to the visitor and thus be able to talk a little of his pieces.

“We thank the Herencia Viva Artisanal Bazaar for opening space for this bazaar that allows us to get closer to visitors and for them to know who makes the pieces that they often take as a souvenir of their visit to the state,” added the artisan.

In his speech at the inaugural protocol, Miguel Antonio Morales Cervera deputy director of Economic Development of the Mérida City Council highlighted the successful programming of the bazaar, since it is during a fortnight that is combined with a good end and, also with a school long weekend, Therefore, it is expected to have a large influx of visitors and potential clients.

The promotion of the sector is done through Herencia Viva, a project for the development, promotion, linking, and marketing of Yucatecan products, whether in Mexico or the world, the result of teamwork between civil society, which represents business organizations; academia, with higher education institutions, and instances of the three levels of Government.

This platform emerged by instruction of the Governor, since January 1, 2022, with the aim of bringing more and better opportunities to artisans, micro or small producers in the state.

Currently, it is the operator of the physical stores previously in possession of the Casa de las Artesanías, which based on the new image have been remodeled, the first being located at the international airport of the city of Mérida, the second located in the Uxmal tourist hostel and finally the Matriz store in the Historic Center of Mérida.

Likewise, it has a presence and handicraft offering from the State in online stores, on the inheritanceviva.com website; in the official “Hecho en Yucatán” store in “Mercado Libre” and soon on Amazon within its specialized section of artisanal or local products called “Handmade”.

One more innovation that the Herencia Viva Marketing Company has is the traveling promotion and marketing module, which is designed and manufactured in Yucatán, by a company affiliated with CANAINMA, which can operate at a congress or convention, in plazas commercial or in bus or airport terminals, allowing us to continue positioning Made in Yucatán permanently.
