2.5 million pesos investment to remodel the Dr. Enrique Barocio Barros Library in Cancun

The Benito Juarez municipal government will invest around 2 and a half million pesos to rehabilitate the facilities of the Dr. Enrique Barocio Barros library, one of the first in Cancun and which has had different problems for years.

Salvador Diego Alarcón, Secretary of Public Works and Services of the municipality of Benito Juárez commented that these resources come from the savings generated from federal resources.

Regarding the rehabilitation works of the Dr. Enrique Barocio Barros library, which began last Monday, November 20th, the official commented that the property had leak problems in some of its electrical and plumbing installations, so the objective is to leave a site in suitable conditions.

However, he acknowledged that in these rehabilitation works, there will also be intervention by some companies and civil associations that have approached the municipal government.

He assured that the objective of the rehabilitation of the Dr. Enrique Barocio Barrios library is not only for it to be an area for consultations, but also an area for learning the use of technology and where cultural, educational, but also for recreation.

The duration of these works is expected that they conclude between the second and third week of December, added the interviewee.

Diego Alarcón commented that the rehabilitation of the Dr. Enrique Barocio Barros library is part of the works being carried out to revive the center of Cancún.
