The teacher was seriously injured in the rollover on the Telchac Puerto-Progreso road, and she later died in a hospital in Mérida.
The teacher, identified as María José S.M., 24 years old, died after her car overturned while she was traveling on the Telchac Puerto-Progreso stretch.
The accident occurred this Tuesday morning when the young teacher suffered a severe accident on the Telchac Puerto-Progreso highway while she was on her way to give classes.
According to reports, the teacher was traveling from East to West when it is presumed that she lost control of her car, which ended up overturned on the right side.
Witnesses alerted the authorities, and paramedics arrived to attend to the teacher. She was urgently transported to a hospital in Mérida, where she lost her life.
It was revealed that the teacher, María José, is originally from the port of San Crisanto and graduated from the Normal School of Dzidzantún. She was teaching at the “Felipe Carrillo Puerto” primary school in Progreso.
