The State Tourism Secretariat is preparing routes to promote destinations on the Yucatán Peninsula through the Maya Train, which will be inaugurated on December 15th.

Andrés Aguilar Becerril, Deputy Secretary of Tourism, explained that they are working on creating a catalog that benefits both the communities and the visitors. This catalog will provide information about possible routes and even days for vacationing aboard the Maya Train.

It will be important to take advantage of the railway infrastructure that will be inaugurated with the Maya Train. For this reason, there are working groups with four states to create products and integrate existing ones, such as Maya Ka’an, which involves nine community-owned companies, and the effort is to strengthen it.

The benefit should directly reach the communities, which is why they are currently focusing on the tourism activity model.

The Maya Train consists of seven sections from Chiapas to Quintana Roo, and the stations will allow the creation of tourist routes that benefit the communities.
