Progreso Mayor Julián Zacarías leads cleaning in “La Draguita”

On Tuesday, October 23, Progreso Mayor Julián Zacarías Curi led an important cleaning effort in “La Draguita” on 39 x 62 street, within Colonia Francisco y Madero. The mayor was accompanied by the director of fisheries, Franklin Franco, in an initiative to revitalize an area that had been neglected for a long time, becoming a hotbed of garbage.

“La Draguita”, known in the Progreso community, had become a deposit area for waste and weeds. However, in a coordinated effort, pruning, fumigation, and garbage collection work was carried out, to return its splendor to this corner of Progreso.

This cleanup work was carried out through the collaboration of the Directorate of Fisheries, which provided the necessary leadership and direction, along with the support of the Directorate of Public Services and Ecology, which contributed trained personnel and the tools required for the work.

During the day, residents of the area came forward to express their concerns and gratitude. The cleaning work has not only transformed “La Draguita” into a cleaner and safer space but has also provided a worthy improvement for the Progreseños who live nearby.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to the well-being of our community. Together, we are transforming our city for the better, into a clean and safe place for all Progreseños, and we will continue to work tirelessly to improve more spaces and provide our citizens with a more prosperous environment. ” Julián Zacarías Curi.
