Policemen rescued “Canelo”, a dog that was trapped in a cenote for three days at the San Manuel community, in Tizimín.

In this way, Severiano Chi Puc, 56 years old, could recover his pet, whom he stopped seeing for a few days until he heard barking coming from the cenote in the center of the town.

Due to the location of the dog, its owner could not go in to rescue it, so he requested the support of the municipal police.

Agents assigned to surveillance in Colonia Yucatán went to the scene, but could not rescue the animal because it attacked them, so they had to help Severiano to go down to where the dog was and thus they could get it out.

“Canelo’s” owner thanked the municipal agents for their support in rescuing his pet without suffering any harm, although the animal was a little weak because he had not eaten for three days.

After the rescue with the use of ropes, the uniformed personnel closed the metal fence of the cenote fence to prevent any other animal or person from entering and falling.
