MÉRIDA, Yucatan – This Friday, October 6, Saturday, October 7, and Sunday, October 8, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will cross the state of Yucatán aboard the Tren Maya, as he makes the second supervisory tour of this service, which is expected to be ready in December.

In only three months, all Yucatecans will be able to use the Tren Maya as a means of transportation, and for this reason, AMLO is carrying out supervision tours, such as the one he did last Friday, September 1st.

Now, this Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8, the Maya Train will be covering the route from Cancun, Quintana Roo to Escarcega, Campeche, passing through Yucatan.

The President estimated that in November he will supervise the work of the Maya Train from Cancun, Quintana Roo, to Palenque, Chiapas, after the consolidation of the Boca del Cerro Bridge, which crosses the Usumacinta River.

The Maya Train has a total extension of 1,554 kilometers of track and is executed with public investment, which this year amounts to almost one trillion pesos, double the budget allocated in 2018, corresponding to the previous six-year term.

Section 2 of the Maya Train concluded

It should be noted that on Monday, October 2, during the “Mañanera” it was announced that the 234 kilometers that make up the route of section 2 of the Mayan Train, from Escárcega to Calkiní, in Campeche, register 100 percent of single track finished, announced the general director of the Mayan Train, Óscar David Lozano Águila.

“We are ready to inaugurate in December,” said the general director of the Mayan Train.
