Twelve years in prison was the sentence received by J.F.M.C., who was found guilty of the crime of attempted femicide since he savagely attacked his wife inside the property they shared in the community of Caucel.

The case was heard before the Second Control Judge of the First Judicial District, and in a hearing held at the Oral Justice Center of Mérida, it was indicated that the now sentenced person must also pay a fine and repair the damage.

The events occurred on January 28 of this year, when the man arrived at night and began to insult his wife, and then began to hit her. Then he took a knife and injured her face, shoulders, and other parts of the body.

At that moment, the woman was talking on the phone with her daughter, and she called the police, so the aggressor fled, but he was later arrested and brought before the judge, beginning the process that finally concluded with the sentence of 12 years in prison.
