“Hugo López-Gatell, a candidate for Morena in Mexico City, confronted the journalist Ciro Gómez, who was questioning him about his work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
During a Radio Fórmula program, the journalist asked him about the figure of 60,000 deaths, to which he stated that this figure actually increased by 10 times.
This argument angered the doctor, who responded that they were specifically discussing projections to expand hospital capacity until June of that year, which was fulfilled.
Ciro pointed out that three years after the loss of human lives, he is now seeking people’s votes.
“Three years later, you come out seeking people’s votes, giving the impression of saying ‘nothing happened, that’s in the past,'” Ciro noted, questioning his ethics.”
