Mérida, Yucatan.- Due to being brutally run over, Juanita “N”, 79 years old, died in the hospital, after being hit by a car in the Polígono 108 subdivision of Mérida, this Saturday night.
The tragedy occurred around 7:00 p.m., on 20th Street, between 31st and 35th Streets of the above-mentioned subdivision.
At that time, the victim was crossing the street near her house to go to get her dinner, when she was run over by a Nissan Almera, license plate YYZ-074-E.
After hearing the crash, the elderly woman’s husband went out to see what was happening and found his partner unconscious.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver took advantage of the confusion to escape from the scene of the incident with his vehicle, which he then abandoned approximately 300 meters from the site of the accident.
Subsequently, he went to a house to hide, however, the family investigated where the alleged perpetrator lived and called the police for his arrest.
The injured woman was immediately treated by SSP paramedics and rushed to the IMSS T-1 Hospital, but unfortunately, she lost her life at the scene.
