On Monday, October 9th, eight Mexicans tourists who remained at the Tel Aviv airport due to the state of war after the attacks of the Hamas terrorist group, managed to leave Israel in a commercial flight.
“Family, friends! We managed to leave the Tel Aviv airport after 32 hours waiting for a flight,” posted on her Facebook account Edith Rodriguez, one of the Mexicans who lived this experience.
The group left Israel at 8:30 am (local time) on Monday, October 9th.
It is made up of eight travelers, four from Tamaulipas and four from San Luis Potosí.
Rodriguez confirmed that they all left on the same flight to Cyprus and are doing well.
The group is made up of Eugenia Noemí Rodríguez, Genoveva Álvarez, Martha Elva Badillo Hernández, Yolanda Yunén Enriquez Badillo.
While the potosinos are Edith Rodriguez, Jaquelin Gonzalez Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez and Elena Rodriguez Gonzalez.
“A couple of hours ago we landed at Paphos Cyprus airport, which keeps us out of danger,” he added.
The next step is to wait to leave for Rome next Thursday and from there to Mexico.”
“So we can once again embrace our family. The feeling of uncertainty, the physical and mental exhaustion was too much. However, the messages and prayers sent by relatives and friends through social networks encouraged us to sort out the situation by our own means and get out of there safely,” he added.
This group was stranded at the Tel Aviv airport when they decided to leave Israel after the declaration of war.
In their social networks they asked for help from the Mexican government but due to the delay they decided to seek a solution on their own. Meanwhile, regarding the Tamaulipans, Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya said that they will look for a way to contact the family and the Foreign Ministry to be able to support them as required.
