Diver passes away in Celestún

Mr. Andrés O. F., (alias ‘Lesho’), a 46-year-old fisherman by trade, tragically lost his life while being brought to the mainland on Thursday,, October 5th.

His companion, Manuel L.C., also 46 years old, reported to the authorities that the deceased was diving about 60 miles off this coast.

Everything was going well until Lesho emerged from the depths of the sea and said he was feeling unwell. To avoid complicating his health further, he decided to return to the port of refuge.

Upon arriving at the fishing shelter, Andrés from Celestún no longer showed signs of life. The Municipal Police cordoned off the area along with the boat where the body was lying and informed the relevant authorities responsible for legal procedures.

Rest in peace, Mr. Lesho.
