Cultural Autumn brings “Theater and Music” to Yucatecan municipalities

Different theatrical genres will be presented in Yucatecan municipalities on Friday, the 13th, as part of the 2023 Cultural Autumn. One of the performances is “Jacinto, una aventura en la selva” (Jacinto, an Adventure in the Jungle), presented by El Guiñol de Tito y Tita, and it will take place at the “Joaquín Varanda” Kindergarten in Maxcanú.

The event is scheduled for 11:00 AM when children, along with their teachers and administrative staff, will have the opportunity to explore the forest with the main puppet character and other unique figures. This activity is part of the Eclipse Yucatán 2023 initiative.

The Cultural Autumn platform, organized by the Secretary of Culture and the Arts (Sedeculta), will also feature performances by Norma Angélica Rodríguez Leal, Juan Jesús Molina Chan, Lolito Bamaceda, and Addy Teyer in “Pa’atiki’ (Detente y Respira)” a musical for young audiences that will be presented at the civic square in Motul at 7:00 PM.

At 8:00 p.m., there will be three theatrical plays in different locations. “De mi cuerpo y mi Vestuario, resérvate el comentario” (About My Body and My Wardrobe, Keep the Comment to Yourself) by Alicia García “X’pet” will be performed at the House of Culture in Progreso, with the Sentidos Escénicos Theater Company, including Juan Carlos Argáez, Charly Perera, and the author herself.

In the basement of the Conkal Palace, “Uay! Ya me agarró el Pixán” (Pixán Has Caught Me) by Claudia Cámara, known as Shirly, La Chonchita, will be performed by members of her theatrical group, including Andy Chan May, Juan Carlos Hernández García, Asunción Haas Gamboa, Karminia Pérez, Jennifer Ramos, Rodrigo Carvajal, Yulliana Vargas, and the project’s creator.

At the Zamná Park in Izamal, Yahal Kab will present the program “Herencias, 45 años de música” (Heritage, 45 Years of Music), prepared to celebrate their career that began in 1978, with the goal of promoting Latin American music and Yucatecan trova. This event is also part of Eclipse Yucatán 2023.
