A couple was arrested after a drug raid in Progreso

As part of the joint efforts to combat drug dealing in Yucatán, federal and state forces carried out a court-ordered drug raid on a property in the Francisco I. Madero neighborhood of the city of Progreso.

Andrés Geovany G.B., 37 years old, and his partner, Ninfa Nereyda S.C., 41 years old, were arrested, and narcotics, including pink and purple tablets of methamphetamine, crack, and crystal, were seized.

The operation against drug trafficking involved coordinated efforts from the Army, Navy, National Guard, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), and the State Public Security Secretariat (SSP).

Prior to the raid, agents from the State Police Investigation (PEI) of the SSP and the Public Prosecutor’s Office gathered evidence to establish that illicit activities related to drug dealing were taking place at that residence.

The investigations were initiated based on anonymous citizen reports to the number 089, which were promptly addressed.

Both the arrested man and woman, as well as the confiscated drugs, were handed over to the judge who issued the search warrant.”
