Following the attacks on Israel, the governor of Campeche indicated that the group is safe, and the hotel where they are staying has a shelter.
A group of 21 Mexicans from Campeche is currently in Israel on a trip to the Holy Land, according to Governor Layda Sansores.
In a social media message, the state leader stated that the group is safe, and the hotel where they are staying has a shelter. She added that both the Mexican government and the tour company organizing the trip are monitoring their situation.
“Our 21 Campeche brothers who are now in Israel with Father Efraín, on a visit to the Holy Land, are doing well. The hotel where they are staying has a shelter. The @GobiernoMX and the tour operator are very attentive. The people of Campeche are praying for them and for peace.”
The group, led by Father Efraín from the Parish of Santa Cecilia in Campeche, departed on October 2nd from Cancún, heading to Istanbul, Turkey, where they spent a few days, and they had just arrived in Israel, according to posts made by the parish on its Facebook page.
